Ohio Digital Learning School Class of 2021 to Be Celebrated with Online Graduation Ceremony
MAUMEE, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–$LRN #Classof21–In a year where every school in America was affected by the pandemic, Ohio Digital Learning School (ODLS), an online public school serving 9-12 grade students throughout the state since 2019, will celebrate its graduates virtually with a commencement ceremony on Friday, June 4. The ceremony information will be kept up to date on ODLS’ Facebook page.
ODLS students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects and a host of electives and attend live virtual classes taught by state-certified teachers.
“Other schools struggled this year, but ODLS never missed a day of instruction, which was key to getting our students to move forward,” said ODLS Head of School Kate Harkless. “This was certainly a challenging year, but our students and families got what they needed to move on to the next step in their lives.”
This year, ODLS will graduate 233 students. Kyle Mitchell is ODLS’ 2021 valedictorian and Mickenzie Wheeler is the Salutatorian. They both plan to take time off to travel.
“I’ll forever be grateful that they helped me move onto the next level of my education,” said Kyle. “This year was a whole new kind of struggle and we all couldn’t have gone through it without the continued support of our teachers at ODLS.”
Collectively, the graduating class reports it has been accepted to colleges and universities across Ohio and beyond, including The Ohio State University, Northwestern, Zane State, and Toledo University. Six students will proudly join the U.S. Army.
