Ozone Capital Markets Is Proud to Announce That North Country Growers OZ Fund Was Honored at “America’s Top OZ Project”
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#ESG–The North Country Growers (NCG) Opportunity Zone Project will build two 10-acre greenhouse facilities for growing produce in Berlin, New Hampshire. The project’s management team recently presented at a virtual OZ expo on December 2, 2021. NCG OZ Fund was one of eight projects selected to present and was voted the “most impactful” project by the judges who consisted of industry experts, investment bankers and government officials.
Richard Rosen, CEO of the NCG project, says, “We were glad to be recognized as the most impactful OZ project in America. I have been involved in the indoor growing space for 40 years and feel this project is needed to provide fresh and affordable produce to the Northeastern part of the United States. The combined heat and power technology along with the ideal climate zone for greenhouse operations should allow us to become the low-cost producer.”
NCG was created to own and operate a 20-acre greenhouse facility on a 169-acre parcel in Berlin, NH. The greenhouses are expected to produce over 10 million pounds of tomatoes and salad greens that will be sold as far south as Washington DC. Using innovative yet proven technology, NCG is expected to expand and make Berlin, NH the greenhouse capital of New England. The site has begun preparations for building and has all necessary permitting in place.

This OZ project is the benchmark for ESG and Community Development Investing. To start, NCG will initially create 85 good paying jobs in the economically hard-hit community of Berlin, NH. By shrinking the supply lines, NCG expects to reach any client within twelve hours of harvesting. Pesticides are not needed, and the water used within the greenhouse is recycled.
