IGNITE: 44 Students from Top B-Schools Begin Summer Internship at Samsung India’s Gurugram Headquarters
Forty-four young graduates from India’s top 16 B-schools have begun their summer internship with Samsung India at its corporate headquarters in Gurugram.
The interns had bright smiles on their faces when they walked into the office, glad that they will be able to experience the Samsung headquarter in Gurugram and bond with colleagues.
The two-month-long summer internship program – Samsung IGNITE (Inspiring Growth & Nurturing Interns Towards Excellence) started with a fun-filled two-day induction which involved interacting with the senior leadership at Samsung India.
Leaders from across Samsung India will help these interns from FMS-Delhi, IIFT, IIM-A, IIM-B, IIM-C, IIM-I, IIM-K, IIM-L, IIM-T, JBIMS-Mumbai, MDI-Gurgaon, Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, MICA-A, NMIMS-Mumbai, SIBM-Pune, TISS and XLRI to work on real-time projects within various verticals of the company.
“IGNITE is all about cultivating the raw talent of this eager bunch of interns to produce fascinating results,” said Sameer Wadhawan, Head, Human Resources at Samsung India.
“We are thrilled to once again conduct this internship for the brightest minds from top B-Schools at our Samsung India headquarters in Gurugram. Next two months will give this young lot an opportunity to contribute to some most interesting business properties, built critical networking relationships and hone their skills with some of the best in business,” he added.
One of the interns, Rama Ravi, a student of MICA-Ahmedabad, who is from Hyderabad, said she has always dreamt of an opportunity like this where individuals can be themselves and values are appreciated.
“I am super excited about the internship because it feels incredible to be a part of company’s commitment to innovation and excellence. There is so much to learn each day,” she said.
During the induction, Rama and the 43 other interns got a deep insight into Samsung and its journey from a Noodle exporter in 1938 to a technology giant today. They were excited to meet interns from last year and connect with Samsung leaders even as they explored growth opportunities for themselves in the company.
“I was a little nervous at first but right now this internship is turning out to be way more exciting than I expected. It’s amazing how 44 of us have been made to interact with each other,” said Samyak, who hails from Jaipur and studies at IIM, Bangalore.
“I love how the cross-team integration works at Samsung. With solutions driven approach, this is such an innovative way of learning, working and problem solving at the same time.” he said.
The interns are looking forward to an exciting and fruitful two months at Samsung.
