Cream cheese products are being recalled in Illinois and 28 other states over salmonella concerns.

Four cream cheese spreads in 8-ounce containers sold under the Aldi brand name have been impacted by the recall. Hy-Vee, an Iowa-based grocery retailer, issued a voluntary recall on two varieties of its cream cheese spread.

Slow cooker prompts airport security response

An instant cooker caused a police response at Willard Airport in Champaign.

A passenger attempted to bring an instant cooker in their checked luggage but the TSA rejected the item. The passenger then left the cooker on the front curb of the terminal. Someone saw the cooker and then reported it to airport security.

Airport officials said there were no delayed flights or any other disruptions due to the cooker.

DuQuoin State Fair entertainment

The DuQuoin State Fair has announced its grandstand lineup for 2024. The grandstand acts to perform are in addition to other events, including harness racing and ARCA auto races.

The Marshall Tucker Band will perform Sunday, Aug. 25, and classic rockers Kansas will take the stage Thursday, Aug. 29. Country artist Ashley McBryde will perform Friday, Aug. 30.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale 100 days before the event starting on Saturday, May 18.
