GITAM University Bengaluru Celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava 2024, Honoring Karnataka’s Rich Cultural Legacy
Bengaluru, 2 November 2024: GITAM (Deemed to be University) Bengaluru celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava 2024 with Namma Kannada Utsava, a vibrant showcase of Karnataka’s rich history, heritage, traditions and culture. Traditional performances like Dollu Kunitha, Veeragase, and Gombe Kunitha highlighted GITAM’s close connection with Karnataka’s people and values, creating a campus that feels local and familiar to students and families alike.
Prof. K.N.S. Acharya, Pro Vice-Chancellor, shared, “Karnataka Rajyotsava at GITAM is our way of celebrating the unity and spirit of Karnataka. This day honours the rich history, language, and traditions that define our state. By celebrating Rajyotsava, we connect our students with Karnataka’s legacy, instilling pride and a sense of belonging that resonates across our campus.”
GITAM Bengaluru is a hub of cultural activity throughout the year, with students coming together to celebrate festivals and days of national and regional importance. While the campus offers a variety of global cuisines, on Karnataka Rajyotsava, students were treated to traditional Karnataka dishes, connecting them more deeply to the local culture.
The event was further elevated by the presence of Padma Shri Manjamma Jogathi and IPS Officer Ravi D Chananna, whose insights and stories resonated with students and families. Manjamma’s journey as a cultural icon embodies the strength and resilience of Karnataka, adding a memorable dimension to the celebration.
