In a historic celebration of Indian culture, Dallas became the site of the largest Garba event ever held in the United States with the Star performer Kinjal Dave, with a record-breaking crowd of over 11,000 attendees. The spectacular event took place outdoors at the iconic Southfork Ranch, leaving participants filled with nostalgia and joy as they embraced the vibrant traditions of their homeland.

This unprecedented gathering was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Patel Brothers, a household name for Indian groceries in America.

The event’s authenticity resonated with many attendees, evoking memories of their hometowns in Gujarat, while local American participants, experiencing Garba on such a grand scale for the first time, appreciated its cultural significance. A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of a 500-pound brass Mataji Murti, flown in directly from India by Mr. Darshan Patel of Patel Brothers, which became the spiritual centerpiece of the celebration. The Grand Aarti, a sacred ritual performed with devotion, further captivated the audience, creating a powerful atmosphere of reverence and unity.

The event was seamlessly executed by Rajshi Events, marketed by 3Sixty Shows, and promoted nationally by Manpasand. It showcased the strength of the Indian-American community in Texas, while emphasizing Patel Brothers’ key role in promoting and preserving Indian culture across America.

“This event has set a new benchmark for cultural celebrations in the U.S. and will remain etched in the hearts of those who attended,” said Mr. Darshan Patel of Patel Brothers Dallas. “It’s a beautiful reminder of the power of tradition and community, and how we can come together to honor our heritage no matter where we are. This historic Garba event will be remembered for years to come, setting the stage for even more grand cultural gatherings in the future,” Mr. Patel added.

Patel Brothers was founded in 1974 by Mafatbhai Patel and Tulsi Patel, is celebrating its 50th Golden Anniversary this year, marking five decades of promoting Indian food and culture in the U.S. The business, now managed by Mafatbhai’s sons, Rakesh and Swetal Patel, continues its mission to help all Americans “Celebrate Our Food… Our Culture”.
