First poll after Trump’s hush money conviction shows he leads Biden in Nevada
(The Center Square) – Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by five percentage points among Nevada voters, new polling from Fox News finds.
The poll was conducted from June 1 to 4, after a Manhattan jury convicted Trump of 34 counts in the hush money case.
Trump received 50% of support compared to 45% for Biden in the hypothetical matchup between the two. According to Fox News, Biden led Trump 47% to 39% in Nevada in a January 2020 poll. Trump lost the state in both 2016 and 2020.
“I just went through a rigged trial in New York with a highly-conflicted judge,” Trump said at a rally Thursday in Phoenix, his first public appearance since his conviction. The former president is set to hold a rally in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The survey found Nevada voters trust Trump more when it comes to the economy (56%), the Israel-Hamas war (53%) and border security (59%). Respondents said they trust Biden more on climate change (52%), abortion (52%), health care (50%) and election integrity (48%).
Biden had 42% approval among Nevada voters, while 58% disapproved of his job as president.
Fox News surveyed 1,069 registered voters in the state for the poll, which has a sampling error margin of ±3 percentage points.
