Google Commits $1 Million to Secure Open-Source Program

Google has committed $1 million in funding to the Secure Open Source (SOS) pilot program established by The Linux Foundation—and the company’s investment might not stop there. “This program financially rewards developers for enhancing the security of critical open-source projects that we all depend on,” Google says. “We are starting with a $1 million investment and plan to expand the scope of the program based on community feedback.”
