An agricultural equipment manufacturer in central Illinois is closing.

RhinoAg in Gibson City announced it will shut down its facility and move operations to Alabama. As a result, 80 people will lose their jobs.

On Wednesday, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Schools posted on Facebook asking local residents to be mindful of the effects such job losses can have on kids and the community.

Gotion plant nears production start

Battery maker Gotion is nearing the start of production at its new facility in Manteno.

The Chinese company announced plans last September to convert a former Kmart distribution center into an assembly facility that would be operating within a year.

Former President Donald Trump stated on social media that he is opposed to the proposed Gotion plant in Michigan, which is expected to supply parts to the Manteno plant.

Lottery player wins $690,000

An Illinois Lottery player is living large after winning more than $690,000 and hearing a plea from his boss.

The lucky winner, nicknamed “Future Audi Owner,” plans to buy a new Audi with his winnings along with paying off his debt. The winner said the first person he told about the lottery win was his boss, who then pleaded with him not to quit his job. The winner said he plans to keep working.

So far this year, over 8.7 million Fast Play tickets have been sold with prizes amounting to more than $169 million.
