James Cook University, Singapore Organised Admission Day Event for Aspiring Indian Students
Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Australian government supported Singapore campus of James Cook University admission day event at Taj Palace, India. AIU manages large number of University Memberships across the world. The primary focus of AIU is to evaluate the courses, syllabi, standards and credits of foreign Universities and equate them in relation to various courses offered by Indian Universities. James Cook University is expected to contribute the common goals of both the countries in building high quality education.
Suman Subbian, shared intent of organising James Cook University Admission Day event for aspiring students who wish to enrol in a reputed and highly ranked foreign University. Through this event Singapore campus of James Cook University facilitated prospective students to engage with various stakeholders to understand the appropriate course that they could choose for their career. The event also gave potential students the opportunity to interact with the academic team, peers and alumni to get a better perspective of the university and the courses offered. Such events will occur 3 times a year to support the interest of prospective students. Dignitaries from Australian High Commission and Austrade, Secretary General of AIU graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mathew Johnston, Minister-Counsellor (Education and Research), Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment said, “Education is the flagship sector for the bi-lateral relationship between India and Australia. We understand the advantage of the strategic partnership for higher education and are eager to work with AIU, on mutually beneficial mechanisms for the students of both the countries. We take this opportunity to congratulate Singapore campus of James Cook University for providing the students with the right guidance for higher studies. It will be our endeavour to encourage all Australian Universities to leverage recent changes about international partnerships in India and establish their presence in India to contribute towards the common goals of both countries in building a high-quality education system.”
Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), expressing her optimistic views regarding the association said, “The student centric policies of India by AIU since 1925, manages 880 universities worldwide that helps the students in their higher studies. James Cook University, Singapore is one of the members of the 17 foreign universities, which gives it the opportunity to participate in the Vice Chancellors’ forum and gives the students to participate in the events held by Indian universities. The students of James Cook University, Singapore can attain equivalent certificate upon their return to avail many benefits such as working in Public sector jobs, pursuing higher education in India, being part of Indian Universities cultural and sports activities and many more. National Education Policy 2020 of the Indian Government invites 100 top foreign Universities to set up their campus in India. We wish that James Cook University will plan for their campus in future to benefit students from India. We wish all the students very best to purse studies from James Cook University.”
