Landmark Recovery of Indianapolis Provides Gold-Standard in Medication Assisted Treatment

INDIANAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Landmark Recovery of Indianapolis will now provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) paired with intensive therapy in an outpatient setting.

Landmark’s MAT program provides individuals struggling with opioid use disorder (OUD) a clinically effective treatment option proven to help sustain long-term or continued recovery from opioids.

“Landmark Recovery is dedicated to providing the highest quality clinical care for our patients and their loved ones,” said Dr. Jason Kirby, the chief medical officer of Landmark Recovery. “The combination of evidence-based psychotherapy with medications, like buprenorphine, works in tandem to relieve the biological effects of opioid dependence while the individual develops the skills necessary to deal with life on life’s terms.”

The marquee of Landmark’s MAT program is pairing medication with a 12-month dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) treatment schedule that involves weekly hour-long individual therapy, twice per week group skills training, and between-session telephone consultations.

The program was implemented in response to overwhelming research proving the combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat OUD. By offering this gold-standard in OUD treatment, Landmark hopes to prevent more deaths due to overdose. In 2021, there were more than 2,400 deaths due to overdose in Indiana, with 426 in Hamilton County alone.

Landmark’s licensed medical providers will supervise Suboxone maintenance in three stages, gradually stepping down patients as they meet on a weekly basis and, finally, meeting once per month in the last stage. Receipt of medication will be dependent on the patient’s participation in and fulfillment of scheduled therapy sessions.
