Life Alive and Down Under School of Yoga Launch Wellness Collaborative
Organic Café and Yoga Studio Announce a New Partnership, Plus a Paid “Happiness Sabbatical” for Members of the Community
BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–What happens when you cross the culinary vision of a beloved organic cafe with a respected yoga school led by some of America’s top instructors? The answer is an urban oasis for Bostonians.
Life Alive Café and Down Under School of Yoga are collaborating on two new Boston locations where they will create a deliciously powerful connection between how we eat, move and feel. Each location will combine the energy of Life Alive’s cafes with Down Under’s programming to inspire positive eating, movement and reflection.
Both the Harvard Square collaborative, at 22 John F. Kennedy Street, and the South End collaborative, at 505 Tremont Street, will feature 100-seat cafes and two yoga, movement and meditation studios. These locations are expected to open in February and March.
To honor these openings, the collaborative is now accepting applications from anyone in the local community to participate in a paid “Happiness Sabbatical.” For eight weeks, those selected will enjoy complimentary plant-based cuisine from Life Alive, take unlimited classes from Down Under and receive advice from a variety of wellness experts. Each member of the cohort will also earn a $2,500 stipend to focus on their personal wellness. Led by Dr. Stephen Gresham, Ph.D., a respected authority in stress management, the cohort will gain access to a variety of experts and tools to benchmark and observe how these activities affect their health and wellbeing.
“Not only do we hear it directly from our guests, but research also shows the food we eat has an immediate positive effect on our energy levels and mood,” said Life Alive CEO Bryan Timko. “Now we are integrating other daily rituals from Down Under into a shared offering.”
“Movement, reflection and nourishment are key components of how we feel,” said Down Under School of Yoga Teacher Leadership Council Co-Chair Kate Heffernan. “From the grit of power yoga to the insights of meditation, we are uniting experts in yoga, fitness, philosophy, social justice, diet and lifestyle.”
Between today and February 1, 2022, applicants for the Happiness Sabbatical can submit an application along with a brief TikTok or YouTube video, or an essay if the written form is preferred, at www.eatpositive.com, sharing why they should be selected for this special experience. The cohort will be unveiled at the collaboratives’ openings.
