Lync Health Partners Appoints Seasoned Ambulatory Surgery Center Executive to Chief Development Officer
– Healthcare veteran Greg Thompson to lead growth and development of new company –
NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nashville-based ambulatory surgery center (ASC) development and management company, Lync Health Partners, announced today the appointment of Greg Thompson as Chief Development Officer.
Thompson is a 25-year healthcare veteran, having served for the past 18 years as CEO of Southern Orthopedic Associates (SOA). There he led a $120 million, 47-provider group operating ambulatory surgery centers and offering musculoskeletal services across orthopedic subspecialties to patients in southern Illinois and western Kentucky. During his tenure at SOA, the organization improved the quality and availability of musculoskeletal care to a service area of 800,000 people, significantly reduced payors’ costs, and delivered total compensation to physician owners in the 90th percentile. Previously, Thompson served in leadership roles at Heartland Healthcare in Edwardsville, Ill., and PhyCor of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.
“I am excited to leverage my experience to help build this innovation-driven organization and to work alongside physicians to improve health outcomes while driving down costs of care,” Thompson said. “We are focusing on the next evolution of ambulatory care and specializing in more intensive joint, cardiology and spine procedures moving into an ASC setting. This new business model represents a significant opportunity for Lync Health Partners to focus on improving value by specializing in these three key service lines.”
Thompson joins a trio of seasoned leaders behind Lync, including CEO Kenny Hancock, COO Cathy Kowalski and CFO Jim Uden. Together, the leadership team combines for more than 100 years of healthcare management experience.
“Greg brings a track record of strong leadership, physician partnerships and deep industry knowledge in musculoskeletal services,” Hancock said. “He is a proven leader in innovation and growth, and we are honored to have him join our leadership team to pursue the tremendous opportunities we see in the ASC sector.”
The appointment of Greg to the Lync Health Partners leadership team comes on the heels of the company’s launch last month.
