Samsung Digithon: Building a Culture of Innovation among Employees

 

Samsung has kicked off Samsung Digithon 2024, the annual flagship initiative designed to spark creativity, foster a digital culture, and drive forward-thinking solutions within the organization.

 

From August through September 2024, Samsung employees across Samsung Southwest Asia regions will dive into the heart of Digithon, a platform that challenges them to tackle critical business problems with a ‘Digital First’ mindset. This year’s Digithon, culminating in a grand finale on September 25th, is not just about finding solutions; it’s about nurturing the innovative spirit that drives Samsung forward.

 

Why Digithon Matters

At Samsung, innovation is more than just a buzzword—it’s a way of life. Digithon is a testament to Samsung’s commitment to the growth of employees. By participating, employees don’t just solve problems—they step into the spotlight to present their ideas to senior leaders. This exposure provides invaluable learning experiences and networking opportunities, aligning with our vision of building a culture of innovation and ensuring that our business remains future-ready.

 

The talent development experts are dedicated to enhancing the structured problem-solving capabilities of participants. Through a modular learning programme, employees receive 10 hours of virtual training that equips them with the skills to present their ideas effectively. This support is crucial in helping them translate their creativity into actionable, impactful solutions.

A Platform for Growth

One of the most exciting aspects of Digithon is the opportunity for employees to showcase their original ideas. This year, participants will submit their proposals based on business themes provided by the company, demonstrating their ability to merge innovative thinking with real-world business challenges.

 

Teams will be evaluated on several parameters including business value, cost efficiency, level of innovation, and sustainability of their ideas. These criteria ensure that every submission is assessed not just for creativity, but for its potential to make a tangible impact on our business and our customers.

 

Looking Ahead

Digithon started with 51 teams participating in the competition with over 100+ employees. We now have the Top 7 qualifying teams making it to the Finale

 

 

As for the finale, the top three teams will be awarded prizes of INR 75000, 50000 and 25000 respectively, recognizing their exceptional contributions. But beyond the prizes, the true reward lies in the connections forged and the ideas brought to life.
