Samsung India’s Employee Volunteers Clean Plastic Waste in Aravali Hills, Pledge to Restore Gurugram’s Green Habitat

Over 200 employees of Samsung India pledged to clean up non-biodegradable plastic waste from a part of Aravali Hills in Gurugram, reaffirming their commitment to the preservation of the environment.

Armed with garbage bags, Samsung’s employee volunteers upheld the company’s core value of co-prosperity and cleaned up the area in a bid to restore Gurugram’s green habitat. Samsung’s Care for Clean India drive was organised to inspire employees to care for the habitats around them.

“Co-prosperity is a core value for us at Samsung and this extends to our environment as well. We have been launching cleanliness drives, green walkathons and tree plantation drives across the country and have seen massive participation from our regional offices as well. It is heartening to see our employees so enthusiastically participating in conserving the environment,” said Sameer Wadhawan, Head, Human Resources, Samsung India.

Simran Grover, who is part of the Corporate Development team participated in the cleanliness drive and was happy she could play a small part in cleaning up plastic waste littered around in the Aravali’s.

“I enjoyed the activity as it added to the sense of togetherness we all have as colleagues. The cleanliness drive was a fantastic initiate for everyone to come together and remove plastic waste from the area. This is my way of giving back to the community,” she said.

As part of its employee volunteering initiative, Samsung has been organising tree plantation drives, plastic waste management campaigns, among others across the country. Samsung has been pro-actively taking measures to motivate its employees to become more environment conscious through such initiatives.
