Upworthy and GoFundMe Surprise Local Young Woman with Check & Support

Dominique Sessa is an amazing young woman and community and regional leader. Known as The Girl in the Pink Wheelchair, Dominique has been planning to start a GoFundMe campaign to raise money and awareness surrounding mental health struggles in Salisbury schools. She is a Board member for Assistive Technology Loan Program Board of Directors of Maryland, Commissioner for the Maryland Commission on Disabilities, and Director of Accessibility and Inclusion for the Water’s Edge Museum.

For the City of Salisbury, she serves as a Kindness Commissioner for Kindness Rocks & Smiles (KRS) Community Project https://krscommunityproject.com/

  • Dominique will be applying online live to start this GoFundMe campaign.
  • She’ll be surprised with a check from Upworthy and GoFundMe
  • Wall mural at entrance of school will allow all kids to participate
  • Rally for Kindness on the football field
  • In honor of upcoming World Kindness Day Nov. 13 combined with the social/emotional challenges facing students and teachers in schools across the country right now
